Obituary of Master Warrant Officer Blair Randell Hart
Master Warrant Officer (Ret’d) HART, Blair Randell - It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and brother at his home in Embrun, On. on 20 February 2023.
Blair leaves behind his wife of almost 32 years Rhonda Hart (nee: Mason) and six children Alisha Dickou (Dalton Dickou), Madison, Chenille, Jayda, Jacob and Brooke as well as his brother Sergeant (Ret’d) Bradley Hart (Daria) of St. Catharines, On. and sister Dr. Kendra Hart of Calgary, AB. and many nieces and nephews. Blair was born in St. Catharines, On. on 7 October 1963. He was predeceased by his Father Kenneth Hart (2020) and his Mother Laura Hart (nee Ruddle. 2022).
In his youth, Blair was well known throughout the Scouting community, achieving both the Queen Scout Award and a Silver Duke of Edinburgh award. Blair later joined The Lincoln and Welland Regiment before transferring to the Military Police Branch of the regular Canadian Army, thereby combining his two great ambitions, that of being a professional soldier and becoming a Police Officer. During his 40 years of dedicated service to Canada, Blair served in numerous locations including with the Canadian Embassy in New Delhi, India as well as tours in both Bosnia and Afghanistan before retiring in 2021 as a Master Warrant Officer to take on a position with Service Canada.
Not being one to sit around twiddling his thumbs, when not working or spending time with his family, Blair maintained his dedication to Scouting by becoming first a leader of Scout Troops then later more senior positions. Having realized that he had achieved all he could with Scouting, Blair went onto become a Mason with Seven Star Lodge in Alliston, On. and then a Shriner. In his later life, Blair decided to try something different and took on the role of a Shriner’s Clown in the Ottawa area which gave him great joy. Blair’s dedication to his community, country and family are well known to anyone who was fortunate enough to meet him.
The family would like to offer our sincerest appreciation for the outpouring of love and support shown to us by our many family and friends at this difficult time. Cremation will take place near his home in Embrun, On. with a funeral service to take place in St. Catharines, On. at a later date. For those who wish, donations in Blair’s memory to the Montreal Shriner's Children’s Hospital or to Wounded Warrior’s Canada are appreciated.
