The Walsh Family. Thinking of you all as you mourn the passing of your precious sister Joanne. I was fortunate to meet Joanne and her family back in 1970 when Gayle and I worked together. What a wonderful bunch of people. Many a good laugh we had over the years. I was talking with Joanne on her birthday and she told me then that she was not in the best of health. Take comfort in knowing that Joanne is once again breathing easily and her gentle soul is resting peacefully in the loving arms of all those who have gone before. Rest in Peace and Love. HUGS

It is with heartbreak and deep sadness, today, I think of and mourn the loss of a dear friend, Joanne Walsh. The Bible says there is a Season for everything, and now Joanne’s Season has arrived.
We became friends at DFO around 1990. Over the years this friendship included about 9 of us, establishing a bond that can never be broken, but three of us were called “THE SPICE GIRLS”. We experienced good times and bad throughout the years that included most of all the NCARP and TAGs and all the Union activities.
She was my strict supervisor at work, we worked hard together, we socialized, went to dances, conferences, meetings, and how can I ever forget the DFO hockey tournaments. We looked for icebergs, walked the beach at Salmon Cove Sands, listened to Harry Martin, drove all the way to St. Anthony only to go off the road around the Tolt in Conception Harbour, she never forgave me for. Ha Ha, Joanne, we survived to tell the tale. She loved to visit with me here at our home and so loved looking at the moon rising together. Joanne was a very talented knitter and crocheter, her garden was impeccable and I learned lots from her, helping me to start a little garden at our cabin on Fair Island. It is still there today. It will always be a reminder of her love for gardening.
They say the measure of a person is measured only by the great memories that can be remembered and shared, then, Joanne you have certainly given me that.
So long my dear friend, May God, all the angels and your beloved Mom and Dad, take care of you now and be a source of comfort to your Family and friends. Huge Hugs to Tara, Rick, Michele, Mike, Gayle and Cyril, Cassandra and Isabelle.
Love you with all my heart and soul. RIP. Ellen P.
p.s. Thank God Joanne, although from a distance, I was able to follow the end of your journey with your Family, hopefully it brought some comfort to all of them. It did for me.
