Obituary of Valerie Frances Maxey

Valerie Maxey passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord on October 30, 2022 at the age of 82. Loving mother and best friend to Valerie (Allen) Nix. Proud grandmother of Mitchell (Amanda) Lucier, and Jay Lucier. Great grandmother to Aubree, Valerie and Vincent. Aunt to many nieces and nephews in BC. Predeceased by husband Glen Fink (1988), parents Victor & Delphine Boeur and 4 siblings all in B.C. After retiring from a career at BMO she enjoyed spending time with friends, being active in the church, travel, was an avid reader, loved gardening and was very proud of her beautiful yard. She had a magnetic personality, great sense of humour and loved people. If you were lucky enough to call her friend, you had a loyal supportive caring friend for life. She believed in community and helping others. Valerie found support in Al-Anon in early years and over the next 25 years was a sponsor to so many and a guest speaker to youth at high schools. She enjoyed volunteering at the Windsor Mission and was also a Eucharistic Minister at St. John Vianney bringing communion to folks at home who were unable to attend service. At Valerie’s request Cremation has taken place and a private family funeral was held. A memorial service will take place Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00AM, at St. John Vianney Church, 385 Dieppe St, Windsor. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Wyandotte), 519-254-2585.
