When I was a little girl, I always thought my Auntie Wanda was just like a Hollywood movie star! She was so beautiful, and she could sing as well. And when the aunties and uncles got together they sang in such glorious harmony it made my heart smile. They all called me Cheba. Auntie Wanda did all the things I like to do... sew, take part in community events, garden, canning, cook and bake, and socialize with friends and family. She was always the one everyone counted on to cook and host family gatherings, whether they were occasions like Christmas and Easter, or weddings and the family reunion. I loved to sit and listen to Auntie Wanda and my dad, Erwin, reminisce about when they were kids out on the farm. It seems the two of them had lots of fun times together and maybe even got into a little bit of trouble now and again. My dad entered her name in a talent contest in Yorkton one time, and she won! He was so proud of her! Now I know they will be laughing and singing together in Heaven. When I close my eyes and imagine the two of them together, I see them sitting side by side dangling their legs off the edge of a fluffy white cloud and daring one another to jump..... and laughing.....
With love,
Claudette (Sokoloski) Hanson
