Obituary of Floyd Andersen
It is with profound sadness that we announce that Floyd Andersen passed away peacefully at Battlefords Union Hospital on September 6, 2022, with family by his side. Floyd was diagnosed with a rare form of Follicular Lymphoma in February 2021. As was his nature, Floyd simply accepted all the challenges the treatments brought him, and he did it all without a complaint.
Floyd will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend of 48 years, Joan; his loving son and daughter-in-law: Les and Meranda; his cherished grandsons: Leonix and Meryk; brother, Nels (Dorothy) and their family; sister, Caroline Robinson and her family; brother, Melvin (Carol) and their family; sister-in-law, Marianne Benning and her family, sister-in-law, Norah Schwan and her family. Floyd will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families, numerous extended family and so many good friends.
Floyd was predeceased by his parents: Chris and Merle Andersen; nephew, Nix Andersen; brother-in-law, John Robinson; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Michael and Caroline Schwan; Joan's brothers, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A Celebration of Floyd's Life will be held on October 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Alex Dillabough Centre in Battleford, SK. This will be followed by a time of fellowship, sharing memories with a cup of coffee and sweet treats (both were Floyd's favorite). A Private Family Interment will follow the fellowship. A recorded version of the service will be posted within a few days of the service for those who are unable to attend.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Floyd's memory can be made to Fred Light Museum - Box 1360, Battleford, SK S0M 0E0; Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation - Box 1358, North Battleford, SK S9A 3L8; or a charity of your choice.
