Obituary of John Homan

BUXTON, NC LCDR JOHN GERALD HOMAN, 45, of Buxton, NC died Friday, November 14, 2003 in an Avon medical facility. Born in Reading, PA, LCDR Homan was the Commander for Group Cape Hatteras, U. S. Coast Guard in Buxton, and had served in the USCG for 26 years. He was the son of Gerald and Virginia Kofroth Homan of Reading, PA. Besides his parents, LCDR Homan is survived by his wife, Victoria ‘Vicki’ Toohey Homan of the residence; a daughter, Megan Homan of Buxton, NC; two sons, Christopher Homan of Millerville, PA and Sean Homan of Buxton, NC; and a sister, June Straka of Reading, PA. A Funeral Mass and Military Honors will be held at Our Lady of the Sea Catholic Church, Buxton, NC on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at 11:00 am, with Father Andre Izac officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
