Thank you Megan. I really want you to know that your father was a great friend. I was so hoping to be able to reconnect with him. If you don’t mind–will you provide my email to your mother. I’m going to dig out old pictures of your father, scan them and send them to her if she would like. I could also send them to you as well. Please let me know. All the best to you. david.sturdevant@bankofamerica.com

Dear Vicky and family,
Every once in a while I sit down and try to search for old friends of mine from the Coast Guard on Face Book. This evening I searched for John and unfortunately found this very sad news. Vicky, you may remember me as I was stationed with John at Indian River and Lewis, Delaware back in the late 70’s and early 80’s. I remember when you two met and were married. John was a tremendous influence on my life and I am so saddened that I lost touch with him. I will never forget his laugh and how much he loved to dance. I was on his boat crew many times and I can tell you he was one of the best boat coxswains I ever ran with. He was in inspiration, he was fearless, he was a hero. I know that if this gets to you at all, it gets to you very late and for that I am truly sorry.
I wish you all well and send my deepest and sincere condolences.
With kindest regards,
David
