Bernice had been working for the NC Agricultural Extension Service for many years when I first came to the agency in 1982. She was a helpful and very experienced co-worker through to her retirement in 1984. Bernice helped us transition from the age of mimeographs to computers.
Within days of my first employment Bernice asked me, please, not to forget those who grow flowers when I became used to serving the needs of many farmers who were our frequent clients. I never forgot that request by her. In the past three decades Bernice would call occasionally needing Extension information herself. It was a pleasure to hear from her each time she called.
May your rich memories of Bernice in many former happy times comfort you now during your feelings of loss.

Sorry to hear of the death of Aunt Bernice. She was always so encouraging and saw the good in others always. I always appreciated her constant love toward me and my family. She will really be missed. I am so thankful for the opportunity to speak with her just a few short weeks ago. I am praying for Frances and Bruce during this difficult adjustment time especially during the holiday season.
