I had the privilege of living with Koral and Ray for 4 months while I completed my practicums. My family had always been close with theirs, but I was floored by how generous and loving Koral was, and how readily she welcomed me--a complete stranger--into her arms and heart and home. During my time in Fort St. John, I came to think of her as a second mother, my family away from home. I was truly devastated to hear of her passing, and my heart goes out to the family she left behind. Ray, Kimmy and Travis, Melissa and Blair, Nicole, Akira, Claire, Tristan, and Evan, I am so unbelievably sorry for your loss. My prayers and the prayers of my Mom and Grandmom are with all of you. I know Grandad will take good care of Koral. All our love and condolences

I am so sorry to hear of Koral's passing. It came as an unexpected shock to say the least. She was a warm and wonderful human being. As I said to somebody the other day I always looked forward to getting her Christmas card each year. With all the social media out there she still took the time to send a card with a handwritten note. They actually gave me a really warm feeling and I'll cherish the memory of that forever. Rest in peace Koral.

Koral has driven me home from church more than anyone else over the last 7 years. Ray, Nicole, Melissa, Kim and families, I have been thinking of you all ever since I heard the sad news. I got to know Koral when Ray was principal at Bert Bowes. Christmas time - the delicious homemade goodies she would bring into the staffroom to go with the Christmas staff lunch, supplied by Ray and Koral. Also the New Years Day open house. I was amazed how calm and organized she was while keeping the table stocked with fresh appies, all day. I enjoyed a nice walk/golf game with Koral, we chatted and visited for nine holes. As mentioned she was very proud of all her family and just the kindest person.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Asai family as a young girl. We embarked on many bowling adventures and shared many memories. I had the pleasure of working with Koral as an educational assistant years later. Koral was always my first choice to request as coverage for my students as she was exceptionally kind, versatile and reliable. Over the past few years I bumped into Koral several times at the park with her grandchildren. It was always so heartwarming watching her enjoy her time as a grandmother. My wife and I are saddened at the news of Koral's passing. I remember meeting Koral and Ray over forty years ago. Met Ray for the first time at Central Elementary, where we taught across the hall from each other, and met Koral a little later at dinner at their home. Fondly remember the delicious dinners of chicken marinated and cooked in soy sauce. Koral was a great cook. Taught several of the girls in kindergarten and coached them in sports. I remember Koral helping out in my classroom and her easy smile and laugh. She will be missed.

I have so many fond memories of working with Koral at CM Finch. She was always so energetic and happy! it was a pleasure to be in her presence.
