Obituary of Jacob Peter Bartsch
Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Jacob (Jake) Peter Bartsch on September 24, 2022 at 92 years of age.
Early in September, Jake fell and fractured some ribs. On September 10th he was taken to emergency
and then the next day he was admitted into FSJ Hospital. The doctor said he was a miracle patient and
he returned to the care home on the 15th. On September 24th Jake passed peacefully in his sleep.
Jake was born July 24th, 1930 on his Uncle John’s farm south of Hague, SK. On October 28th, 1951 he
married Dorothy Rempel in MacGregor MB. This was the beginning of their adventurous lives together.
Jake was a hard worker. He was a very dedicated and reliable employee. He worked on the railroad,
was a farmer, rancher, cowboy, horse trainer & whisperer, cat skinner, trucker and a father of 9 boys.
Jake wasn’t one to settle in one place for very long, we know he moved at least 55 times in his 92 years.
Jake and Dorothy ended up in the Buick Creek area in 1972. They came to visit Dorothy’s brother Jake
and his family. Jake fell in love with the country and he immediately staked land and promised Dorothy a new house.
Jake was happiest when he was with friends and family.
Jake will be missed by his 8 sons & their wives, 26 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
