Obituary of Alvin Wilbert Pyle
Obituary
A Son, Brother, Father, and proud Grandfather.
Alvin was a natural leader and teacher, whether it be catching fish or drilling a 7000 meter well. As an avid reader, Alvin was always eager to expand his vast knowledge of the world and it’s layers.
Alvin was born at the hospital in Fort St. John, BC. He was the fifth child of eleven from Father Amos and Mother Alice. “Mom” said Alvin was a curious and adventurous child growing up on the farm. He loved riding horses and hunting with family and friends.
At the early age of 14, Alvin, while on horseback, rode over to a drilling Rig. That’s when his passion for oil exploration exploded. After quickly ascending the ladder from lease hand, to “rough neck,” to driller, and then many years as a “tool push,” Alvin moved on to well site supervisor - the “Boss” of the site. Even as the Boss, Alvin was never above getting his hands dirty. One of his favorite parts of his career was training new crews and people . After leaving the exploration side of the patch, Alvin started a new journey on the conservation side. Behind all the seriousness of Alvin’s life, he loved a good tall tale and a laugh.
Alvin loved his family and friends with all his heart. We are all greatly saddened by his early completion of this deep well. We ALL want you to know we LOVE you and will cherish the memories you made with us.
Alvin leaves to mourn his Mother Alice; Sons Alvin Jr. and Daniel; Daughter Jasmine; Granddaughter Ari-Lee; Brothers Robert, Brian, and Guy; Sisters Doreen (Wes), Elma, Debbie (Johnny), Vicki (Mike), Willie, and Norma (Colleen); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Alvin was predeceased by his Father Amos; Brother Alfred; and Son Clayton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alvin's memory to the BC Cancer Foundation
