Obituary of Edda Michel Mearow

Obituary Edda Michel-Mearow Born July 26, 1951 in Kantah, BC to her parents Anna Capot-Blanc (Kazonay) and Narcisse Capot-Blanc. Edda is predeceased by her Daughter: Tracy Mearow, Grandchildren: Katterina Nadine Michel & Kattalina Ann Michel, First husband: Joseph Michel, Siblings: Maggie Capot-Blanc & Lana Capot-Blanc and Parents Anna Capot-Blanc (Kazonay) and Narcisse Capot-Blanc and Grandpa & Grandma Kennay-Yah. Edda was raised on Fort Nelson First Nations with siblings Billy (Jessie), Rosemary (Willie), Eddy (Gladys), Irene (Harry), Jeannie (Alex), Larry (Jane), Denise (Richard), Joseph, and Johnny (Eliza). Edda was a Residential School survivor, she attended 3 different residential schools within 1958-1964. She told one of her teachers at a young age that she would marry a man named Joseph Michel. Low and behold, she met her first husband Joseph Michel and married 1965. Together they had five beautiful children: Eunice Capot-Blanc, Norman Michel (Dorothy), John Michel (Kayla), Joseph Michel (Annabelle), and Josephine Michel (Ken). Joseph Michel tragically passed in 1973 sadly leaving Edda and her children devested. Edda continued to care for her family with everything she had and knew. Edda then met her second husband, Richard Mearow, in 1976 and married November 21, 1992. Together they had their daughter, Tracy Mearow (Lawrence Berreault) and later adopted Bridget Capot-Blanc. Richard and Edda shared a marriage of 47 years and had many adventures along the way. Including trips to Alaska, Niagara Falls, Newfoundland, Vegas, and a couple of cruises. Edda sure loved to travel. Edda had many hobbies that included: Beading, Bingo, Singing, playing Solitaire, cribbage, and country music. Edda was always full of joy, laughter, and jokes. She made everyone around her feel welcomed in her embrace and cared for many of her children's friends as her own. She loved being outdoors having cookouts, travelling up the highway, hunting (could shoot better than some of the men she went with). Edda had 25 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and she absolutely adored them! She loved having them close by when possible but she also loved watching them live out their dreams and goals. She was proud of each and everyone of them. If you knew Edda, you knew what being loved felt like. She left an impression on everyone she met, even if it was a moment in passing. Her stories will live on through her family and dear friends.
