It is with great sadness that we share in the passing of our cousin Elder Bella Fox. Our deepest condolences go out to her immediate family, elders, friends and the Halfway River community. We will miss her dearly, she showed strength as a Beaver language speaker and traditional Elder. Bella was highly respected across Treaty 8 territory. She once shared a story about her ancestry and lineage with our late granny Julienne, her aunty. We all laughed as she described how her Aunty Julienne was taken away by that cowboy! (grampa Daniel). Aunty May recently shared a story about Bella's kindness, and how late Uncle Bernard described Bella as sure Indian like that, she is a really related to us. We were better with Bella, her wisdom and kindness will continue to guide and inspire us going forward. We send good thoughts and prayers as we honour her life and teachings.
