Obituary Update: Richard's family would like to invite all of Richard's friends to a memorial tea which will be held at Rose Marie's home on May 21, 2023 at 3:00pm following a private family gathering at which time Richards ashes will be scattered. Rose Marie's address is: 11616 91st Street, Fort St John, V1J 6B4 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Fuerst, in his home on February 22, 2023. Richard was born April 26, 1965, to parents Howard and Rose Marie. A younger brother to Parrish but older brother to Dale. Richard came into this world in Beausejour, Manitoba, home province to both parents. When Richard was in kindergarten, he with the rest of his family moved to Clinton, BC. After a few years and a few moves, he ended up in Fort St. John, where he spent the rest of his life. Richard married Angela Bennett, who predeceased him in 2009, leaving their four adopted children, Riley, Jesse, Arianna, and Tyler with Richard. Richard worked as a forest firefighter and for BC Rail for a while, but the majority of his working life was spent at the Canfor Sawmill. After he left the mill, he decided to try his hand at staying home to look after his two children who were still living at home. That was when he became interested in woodworking again, a hobby he had dropped when he was too busy working full time at Canfor. His hobby began to grow into a small business based out of his home. Richard enjoyed going to the markets where he found he could show and sell his pieces. He created not only wood pieces, but also the greatest friendships with people who then helped one another with new ideas. Left behind to miss and mourn Richard are his dad Howard; his mom Rose Marie; younger brother Dale; and children Riley, Jesse, Arianna, and Tyler. He will also be missed by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his older brother Parrish (Perry) and his wife Angela. A special thank you from Richard’s mom and brother to Keith, Dave, Lonnie, Al, Suzanne, Cheryl, and Janet. Thank you so much to all his wood nut friends. As per Richard’s request, no service will be held, and a private burial will take place later this summer.
