Obituary of Timothy James Elias
Obituary
Timothy James Elias went home to be with our Lord and Saviour on April 30, 2023. Tim was born to Lou & Edith Elias on March 8, 1963 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and lived there until he was 6 years old. He grew up mostly in Ottawa, Ontario, spent summers at their cottage in Vermont, and made many special friends and memories there. The family eventually made their way to Fort St. John in 1996, joining the rest of their family that was already there. Tim’s happy place was in class at the Fort St. John Community Enrichment Centre spending time with his friends/classmates/aides. He also enjoyed walking in the Community Forest and at the walking track, bowling, swimming, horseback riding, and spending time with his family.
Tim was loved by many. His kind, gentle heart, loving spirit and beautiful smile left an impression on people wherever he went. Tim loved people unconditionally with all of his heart, setting an example for the rest of us to follow.
Tim leaves behind his mother Edith Elias; sisters Heidi (Tom) Scott and Kim (Marcel) Phillips; niece Tawnya (David) Demers and grand-nieces Julia & Jenna; niece Tina (Emmanuel) Owolabi and grand-nephew Micaiah; and nephew Robert (Becky) Elias-Bertrim and grand-nieces Reese, Allie and Layna and grand-nephew Riley. Tim joins his father Lou Elias in Heaven.
Tim will be remembered as a brave and courageous warrior who tackled every obstacle that was put in his path and kept going. He finished the difficult race set out before him with excellence. His presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but they rejoice in knowing that he is at peace and is now celebrating in his eternal home. Tim’s body may have gone, but his gentle spirit remains with each person he has touched. His unconditional love, compassion, and joy lives on.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Thomson and all of the medical professionals that assisted with Tim’s final months. Their kindness and compassionate care for Tim will not be forgotten.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
