Ellen Ruth Knight (Fox)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ellen Knight (Fox) at 85 years of age.
Ellen was born on June 2, 1937 in Salem, Oregon and passed away with family by her side on January 9, 2023 at the Fort St. John Hospital in Fort St. John, British Columbia.
Ellen was a wonderful soul, who loved her family more than anything.
She will be missed and forevermore loved, and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Ellen's Life will be held Friday, June 2 at 2:00 pm with a tea to follow at the Fort St. John Seniors Hall.

Ellen Ruth Knight (Fox) was born on June 2, 1937 in Salem, Oregon, the first of 5 children to Leonard and Ruth Weathers. Sisters Barb and Sue, and brothers Jerry and Leon followed.
She grew up in Oregon and moved to British Columbia in 1963/64 with her then husband Charles, children Brent, Janet and Brenda. Daughter Judy was born in 1965 in Dawson Creek. The family made their home around the Dawson Creek area for several years.
Ellen and Charles parted ways in the early 1980’s. She then met Glenn Fox one night at square dancing and they lived in and around Fort St. John until her passing on January 9th 2023.
When Glenn passed away in July of 2021, she enjoyed floor curling and playing cards at the Fort St. John Senior’s Hall where she met many new friends.
Ellen was involved in Fall Fairs and Horticulture events for many years. She enjoyed gardening, wine making, canning, sewing and crocheting.
Ellen was predeceased by her partner Glenn, daughter Judy, great grandson Rhys, parents Leonard and Ruth, brothers Jerry and Leon, and sister Sue.
She is survived by her children Brent (Jade), Janet (Brian) and Brenda (Larry), Glenn’s children, her sister Barb, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life was held for Ellen on June 2, 2023 at the Fort St. John Senior’s Hall. She was laid to rest (interment) at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort St. John.
A big thank you to Dr. Delmonte and the nursing staff at the Fort St. John Hospital for making her final days comfortable.
