Obituary Cornelius Braun 1945-2023 It is with sadness that we share the passing of Cornelius Braun at 77 years of age. Cornelius Braun, a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 10, 2023. He was a man whose life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family and the land he called home. Born on October 11, 1945 in Hague, Saskatchewan, Cornie was the tenth child out of thirteen siblings, growing up in a close-knit and loving family. On October 1, 1967, he married Tina Klassen, his lifelong partner, and together they settled on his land north of Prespatou, BC. Cornie's life was marked by hard work and deep commitment. He tirelessly provided for his loved ones, working long hours at a lumber camp, and later establishing a successful farming livelihood. Cornie was committed to the Lord. Cornie's devotion extended to his community, as he actively participated in the Prespatou Mennonite Church, teaching Sunday School and serving as the church's maintenance man. With a mischievous spirit, Cornie loved to bring joy and laughter to those around him. His playful nature was evident in his pranks and humorous antics, and he cherished moments spent fishing and enjoying the outdoors. Above all, Cornie's heart overflowed with love for his family and his beloved grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will endure for generations. Cornie is survived by his loving wife Tina; his children Barb, Judy (Neal Shultz), Tony (Tanya), Tim (Melissa), and Terry (Mandy); and his adored grandchildren. Cornie was predeceased by his parents, Aron & Anna; and three siblings, Aron, Tina, and Peter. A memorial service for Cornelius will be held Tuesday, July 18 at 2:00 pm at the Fort St. John Evangelical Mission Church. There will a viewing prior to the service at 1:00 pm. Following the service, interment will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery with a tea following the interment at the Fort St. John Evangelical Mission Church.
