Obituary of Douglas A. Newandee
With a heavy heart, we are sharing the devastating news of the sudden and tragic passing of Douglas Alan Newandee, PhD, on May 2, 2023. Born in 1958, Dr. Newandee was 64 years old who left behind a grieving wife, Hoa Hoang Newandee, and four beloved children, Helena Newandee, Daniel Newandee, Donald Newandee, and Heather Newandee. Dr. Newandee is also survived by his father, Andrew Newandee, sister, Kimberly Newandee DeFronzo, brother-in-law, Dr. Carl DeFronzo, nephews Cameron DeFronzo, Connor DeFronzo, Dylan DeFronzo, and niece Deeana DeFronzo. He is also leaving behind a heartbroken father-in-law, three sisters-in-law, seven brothers-in-law, 26 nieces and nephews, four nieces/nephews-in-law, and five grandnieces/grandnephews.
Dr. Newandee had a lifelong passion for academia, evident by his continued pursuit of higher learning both as a student then as a Professor. His educational achievements included earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering degree from Rochester Institute of Technology, a M.S. in Electrical Engineering degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, then a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering degree and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Dr. Newandee was most recently a Professor in the Engineering Department at Western New England University, Springfield, MA.
A memorial service will be conducted for Dr. Newandee to commemorate his accomplished life on Saturday May 13, 2023, from 12pm-5pm, arranged by Carmon Funeral Homes, and will be held at The Lodge Community Chapel & Reception Hall located at 130 Deerfield Road, Windsor, CT 06095.
