Obituary of Willie Gordon

LANSINGBURGH - Willie Gordon, 64, of Lansingburgh, passed away on September 23, 2022, in the comfort of his own home. The son of the late Arlene Gordon and Mario Carson, Willie grew up in East Harlem's Taft Houses with his mother and older brother Robert. After ending up at Camp LaGuardia in Orange County in the early 2000s, Willie was recruited by Uncle Sam Cleaners, where he was first assigned to work at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany. About a year later, he began cleaning the offices at 40 North Pearl Street - where he worked until the end of his life. Willie was considered a friend to everyone he met and was truly loved by his colleagues and neighbors. He was a kind and gentle person, though he was not afraid to stand up for people who needed his help. Thanks to Willie's love and attention, many office plants survived the harsh pandemic months. He enjoyed making bracelets for his friends. He loved music and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He will be greatly missed, though he will forever remain present in the hearts of those who knew him.
