Obituary of Annette Turner-Marson
TURNER-MARSON, Annette July 2, 1926 - June 5, 2023 On June 5, 2023, Annette Turner-Marson, passed away peacefully, just a few weeks before her 97th birthday. Annette was an amazing person who loved her Emmanuel church family. There was nothing more special than helping in the book room at the church bazaar. She spent her last week enjoying fresh strawberries, a butter tart, a bite of chocolate, a cup of tea and time with Cathy and Caitlin and her cat. Annette was proud of her long history of volunteer work for the Red Cross and the Windsor Housing Coalition with her friend Pat and others. Annette was born in Ireland and grew up in England, remembering carrying her gas mask to school during the war. Her 4 brothers were very special to her. Annette was married to Adam and came to Canada with him in 1955. Annette and Adam loved their regular visits and lunch at Point Pelee after church. Predeceased by her beloved husband Adam and brothers Jackie, William and Howard, she is survived by her brother Austin, (“a very fine man”) and his wife Ann and stepdaughter Janice who all live in England, and nieces and nephews in England and Australia. She was a special person to Pat, Cathy and Caitlin Shanahan, and was considered to be an important member of their family. Annette lived a full life, giving much to others. She had a strong faith, a wonderful sense of humour and a kind and generous heart. Thanks to the staff at the Village of St. Clair for their care over the last two years and Kay who kept Annette’s bookshelf full. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel United Church (1728 Lincoln Rd. Windsor) on Wednesday, June 14 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Emmanuel United Church would be appreciated.
