Obituary of Ted Kuzniar

Died peacefully on Saturday May 6, 2023 at the age of 99, born January 5, 1924. Predeceased by his parents John and Katherine, who immigrated from Poland. Ted grew up with his siblings Helen, Henry and Ziggy in their family home on Langlois Avenue. He was an athlete from a young age finding his love for golf after caddying at Roseland Golf and Curling Club in the late 1930s. Ted enjoyed playing baseball with his fellow service members in the Canadian Army and he was also an avid bowler winning many championships throughout his lifetime. His career at General Motors’ Transmission Plant lasted 41 years ending with his retirement in 1982. In the years following his retirement, Ted enjoyed many rounds of golf, traveling and spending time with his family sharing delicious meals. Ted is predeceased by his niece Gail Growe and nephew Robert Growe. He is survived by his nieces Judy Romanik and Margaret Growe, great nieces, Natasha Vettraino (Pat Vettraino) and Krista Zdyb, great nephews Jonathan Growe and Matthew Growe and great great nephew Joseph Zdyb. Cremation has taken place. Burial service to be held at Heavenly Rest Cemetery on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM. At Ted’s request, a wake has been planned following the burial service. Please join us for the burial service or the luncheon to follow at noon with an open house that will continue until 3:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594, 5030 Howard Avenue.
