I remember when you guys moved next door to us in Leeway Road in Malvern and we became very good friends, all the good times and memories we all shared there. Took a while for me to do this. It is really difficult. But enough about me. This is remembering you Simone. From the days meeting through our kids their elementary school, watching them grow together and volunteering on school council. Our friendship only started. Aunty Simone, I still find it difficult to believe that you are gone (but never forgotten).
My childhood was filled with such fun memories of you and my cousins Kelly & Kristy. It was the most exciting thing to hear you were coming to SA to visit us from Canada. A fond memory I have is swimming in the pool that you got for all us children that was in our backyard.
You were also always up for a laugh, remember when my mom (Theresa Robinson Stoltz) dressed up as "Paris Hilton" and we all went to Pick n' Pay and you were the "paparazzi" taking pictures of her! Just a little snippet of the mischievous and lighthearted nature you had.
Also, I wish I could've told you this sooner but you are my inspiration for wanting to start a small business (not sure what that might be yet or when it'll happen, but it'll definitely be something on the creative side). Will always remember the phone call we had and you said "don't worry about what other people think of your business, just start it". These words will stay with me during any business ventures I choose to pursue, especially when other people are doubtful of it, your words of encouragement will outshine the doubt.

I had The Pleasure of meeting Simone back in 2011.
She introduced me to certain SA foods. One being cook suckers. Me being from Newfoundland didn’t pronounce it like that though.
Simone told me about asking a clerk at the store for ass cream. He told he to go to the pharmacy across the street. What she was really wanted was ice cream. Every time I have ice cream I think of Simone and smile.
Simone will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know her.

I met Simone when she took care of my daughter Lily. Simone was always smiling and full of energy and even though she had a brood of little buggers running around and destroying her house. Simone, I will never forget the day we first met. We hadn’t been in Canada for very long. I was still shell-shocked and grieving for South Africa. We met at Line Dancing many years ago and the very talented Simone made the beautiful coasters of my mum for her 90th. The little plaque she presented to mum that night was a wonderful surprise. She had taken a picture of all of us from Facebook and turned it into something beautiful with a lovely saying on it. As a fellow South African, born in Johannesburg and then lived in Durban for many years, my first encounter with Simone was at her opening of her SAFFA store in Belle River. I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to her about her new adventure and she was so kind and sincere. I want to pass on my deepest sympathy to her entire family. Simone's passing was a huge shock to me. Q: Where did Simone like to travel?
A: She spend every moment she could coming to South Africa.
Sometimes it felt like she spent more time here then in Canada .
I know she enjoyed the pies here gee if you had to ask her what's for dinner she wanted a pie.
The hardest part for me is no longer the distance but rather the fact I can't pick up the phone and call her. Knowing that she isn't on the other side is heartbreaking .
As a human we are naturally selfish not wanting to lose anyone dear to us. I don't know what pain she went through I am just hurt that I couldn't be there for her.
But in time we will learn to live with this pain. And all the little things we do, say, will remind us of her now and again but till such time we will meet again in the next life. Love and miss you stax love ❤️ Dwayne

I can't believe you have gone. When we first met about 44 years ago - we fought daily over who would get the best seat in your mum's car on the drive to school. Even then you had that sparkle in your eye and mischievous smile. When we lost Dad you came all the way from Canada to England. You hugged me and said we are not just friends we are family.This is how you loved. It didn't matter to you if you hadn't seen someone for 40 years or just met them you just loved them.
And you were family, all those Christmas Eve's spent together while our mum's drank the OBS ;-)

Sinimone, what a legend you were. You will be forever edged in our minds. I was so honoured to see you when you visited Cape Town and you mentioned that you wanted to make Blouberg your home when you retired. I was already looking forward to that. Sending love and light to all of Simone’s family. My heart goes out to each and every one of you. She sure was one sassy lady and because of her humour I never went into depression at times when I probably would have in my life. But thanks to her making me laugh always, that never happened. I will hold onto all the wonderful memories and re read her Facebook posts like the glue chapstick when I need a good laugh or to feel she is near. I will remember our Durban clubbing days with fondness to The Med. And whenever I make a peppermint crisp tart I will think of her.
