Herb was a true family man. he loved Tracy and Steven unconditionally. He was a guy who appreciated his friends and thanks to he and Mary, he made sure we stayed close, with our suppers out. Herb was always ready to help if you needed it. We miss him dearly but love our memories . Especially our camping trips and his huge camp fires!

Herb was such a wonderful person, a good friend & golfing buddy. It was always so much fun playing golf with Herb every Thursday morning at Tilbury Golf Course. Herb always used Orange coloured golf balls and wooden tees he would bring back from Florida, after golf we would go into Tilbury and have lunch. I will treasure all those great talks and golf rounds we had together.

Herb will always have a special place in all our hearts. He was someone special. He made my mom (Mary) smile, laugh, gave her strength and will continue to do so. But most of all showed her how to feel loved.
My boys Josh and Jackson, they will always look at him as their grandpa.
I personally can't thank him enough on how he was with my boys. To me (John) words can't express how much I'll miss him. Always asking how things were. He was my tag partner when it came to comical arguments with mom. I'll miss the advice, the talks about sports, the laughs, having a beer with him and after supper always bringing out the desserts.
So many memories we will all hold in our hearts. Our family will forever miss him and will never stop thinking about him.

Memories of Herb include some pretty fun camping trips. Kirk and I would bring our young kids with Heather and Bob, who's campsite was always close to Herb and Liz. We shared laughs watching Jager jump in puddles while Alanna just chose not to. We enjoyed Herb's big warm campfires, his deep laugh and his wonderful storytelling. Q: What will you never forget about Herbert?
A: Herb was a great friend to our family. Specifically he never forgot my anniversary… for 17 years he would make sure to reach out to me or my parents to say happy anniversary.
Herb was a supporter and friend as I forged my way through playing and coaching hockey.
I got to speak to him via FaceTime while he was in hospice and even then, he said ‘you’re doing good’ - always supporting a friend.
My best to Steve and Tracy through this challenging time. Both of your parents were huge supporters of me and my family…. I thank them and you both.
Thank you for all the support…. I can tell you that it means the world to me.

Q: How did you meet Herbert?
A: Herb was a super human being and a great friend and co worker .
I remember the times in the mid eighties when I first started at Bell, he was eager to help me learn the nuances , tips and tricks of the job . He was selfless, devoted and comic at the most appropriate times. Especially when we were stuck together in a pit splicing for hours at a time . He was wise beyond his years . Q: What 3 words best describe Herbert and why?
A: Humble. Loving. Generous.
Herb was simply an amazing human. The love he showed for his family was extraordinary! Even on his last days when he wasn’t well, you would never know it. He was the grand kids biggest cheerleader and even enjoyed himself with the adult after parties during volleyball tournaments. I loved hearing his stories. He will be sadly missed!
