Obituary of John "Scott" Bryans
BRYANS, John Scott It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Scott at Hospice of Windsor on January 20, 2023 at 63 years of age. Scott was a loved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Cherished son of Jane and the late Jim (1983). Dear brother of siblings Chris (Enid), Jim, Ilene (Tom), Hope (Joe) and Jason. Predeceased by brother Andrew in 2019. Affectionately remembered by his nieces Leah (Ryan), Rebecca and Meredith, and nephew Nolan. Loving great-uncle of Hazel and Jackson. Cherished by dear family friend, Tony Johnston. Scott was born and raised in Windsor, then moved to Calgary, where he worked in the oil industry for 10 years. When Scott returned to Ontario, he settled in Chatham, and in the last year returned to Windsor to be with friends and family. Charismatic and witty, Scott always connected with people, and leaves behind a host of friends in Chatham and Windsor. He was a wordsmith who loved to write short stories and poetry, and was often called upon by friends and family to be a speaker at events. A kind, generous and fun person, Scott enjoyed much in life - family games and quiz nights, crossword puzzles and birding, and his Detroit Tigers and Free Press. At Scott’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service, and a private cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Scott’s life will take place at a later date. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to The Hospice of Windsor and to the Windsor Regional Hospital Cancer Centre. Friends wishing to remember Scott with a memorial donation are asked to consider the family’s favorite charity, Street Help of Windsor, or The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. Arrangements entrusted to Simple Choice Cremation (Essex), 519-254-2585. On line condolences may be shared at www.simplechoicecremation.ca.
