Obituary of Bruce Raymond Wightman

BRUCE WIGHTMAN It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce Wightman on January 6, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Bruce had numerous battles of health issues throughout the years. Beloved husband & best friend to Evelyn Wightman for 62 wonderful years. Loving father to Bruce Robert Alan (Nancy), Gordon Douglas (Rosanna), Brenda Lynn, (Chris) Bruce had a special bond with his nephew David (Cindy, Andrew, Adam) Cherished grand-father to TJ, Alan, Meghan (Aaron), Payton, Joseph, and Devon (Brooke) Cherished Great Grandfather to Harper and baby boy due at the end of April 2023, Cherished Sister Janet Mendler. He was predeceased by his parents Gilbert Raymond & Mrytle Wightman, Brother-in-law Everett Beetham (Beverley) January 6, 2015, Niece Cheryl (nee Beetham) Wietecha (Marty) December 17, 2019, Brother-in-law John (Linda) August 6, 2022 Bruce will be missed by all of his nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Bruce was Purchasing Agent at Fabricated Steel (Fabco) Division Rd where he retired after 39 years of service.. He and his wife Evelyn and family were avid power boaters for 50+ years. Bruce was a Life Member and Past Commander AP with the Windsor Power and Sail Squadron for 25+ years. He taught many Boating and VHF Classes throughout out the years. As per Bruces’ wishes, Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 @ the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 (5030 Howard Ave, Windsor) from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Canadian Diabetes, Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation or Hospice would be appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Sheldon Lewis, Cardiologist, Dr. Raphael Cheung, Endocrinologist , Dr. Albert P. Ng, MD. Special thanks to Nurse Nina, Alex, Bonnie, Courtney, Hannah and, many other nurses and Staff at Ouellette Campus Neurosurgery 8th floor. Special thanks to Hospice & Staff @ Hotel-Dieu Healthcare Emara Bldg 3rd floor.
