Obituary of William Birkby Millar
The family of Bill Millar are saddened to announce his passing on December 29, 2022 at the age of 90 years. Born in Toronto, ON to William and Annie Millar, he spent his formative years exploring the ravines of Toronto and riding his bike with his buddies delivering newspapers and groceries so that he had money to purchase a milkshake or to go to a movie. His job with Hydro lead him to Windsor where he met and married Albina Studak, settling in South Windsor raising Scott(Judy) and Barbara(Bob) while working as a manager at Chrysler Canada. Bill loved to repair mechanical items, travel throughout North America by car with his family, play racquet sports but most of all, golfing was his passion playing the links at Dominion and Fox Glen golf courses. He was always willing to offer advice about cars and any financial matters especially if it involved saving a buck or two. Frugality followed him throughout his life but not when it came to education. His was especially proud when his children and 2 grandchildren, Nathan (Brittany) and Nathalie Mero graduated from post secondary institutions. The last 5 years of his life were spent caring for his wife Albina, who passed away in January 2022. He faced his own medical challenges shortly after her passing but was able to continue to reside in South Windsor due to the compassionate and caring staff at Huron Lodge(Dogwood). Cremation has occurred. Memorial donations may be made to Salvation Army and/or Goodfellows.
