Obituary of William LaBute
Our beloved Bill took his final breath on the last day of summer break and began his journey to heaven just as a new school year was upon us. Cherished husband of 55 years to Diane (nee Robert). Devoted father to Carole, Lisa (Tom), and Paul (Emily). Predeceased by his parents, Guillaume and Yvonne LaBute. Dear brother to Larry (Lynne) LaBute. Proudest Pepe to Aimee, Stephanie, Caleb, Jocelyn, Judah and Silas. Great-Pepe to Amaree and Zion. Special brother-in-law to Evelyn and Bob Morin. Dearest friend to Walter, Marina, Jason (Kim, Erin, William) and Erin (Dan) Clemens, Bob and Heather Gilbert and many, many others. Very special cousin and friend to Joette Lambert. Bill was the perfect model of "caritas" (Christian love of humankind), the school motto of F.J. Brennan High School, where he not only attended as a student himself but also taught for 32 years. His approach to teaching was simple yet impactful, "love your students and everything else will take care of itself." Beyond his dedication to education, Bill also served many roles within the parishes that he attended over the years, including COR, Marriage Encounter, Marriage Prep and as a lector. He also served as a board member and volunteer at several different community agencies throughout the years, most recently as a Meals on Wheels driver. Our family would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the many friends and family who supported Bill throughout his cancer journey. Heartfelt thanks to the Windsor Cancer Clinic, nurse Dorothy, Bayshore Home Health and the incredible team of caregivers at the Hospice of Windsor. Family and Friends are welcome to gather at Good Shepherd Parish, 462 Advance Blvd, Tecumseh, Ontario, Saturday , September 10, 2022 beginning at 10:00AM. A funeral mass to follow at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Bill’s honor to Hospice of Windsor Essex County, or any charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLE CHOICE (Wyandotte), 519-254-2585.
