Obituary of DesRoches, Loretta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Loretta DesRoches on September 26th, 2022. Loretta was born in St. Gilbert, PEI on August 6, 1921, and just recently celebrated her 101st birthday. She lived every day on the strength of her faith. Until her 100th year, she enjoyed reading her newspaper, solving crossword puzzles and her favorite pastime, playing cards, never less her smile was always there when someone came to visit. Mom, (Meme) was an integral part of our family. Her impact and love will live on in our hearts. Although her passing has left a big hole in our lives, she will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren and great children for the beautiful memories from annual summer vacations spent here on PEI. Loretta is predeceased by her parents William and Exeline Maddix, sisters Clara Bruhm and Antoinette Bernard, brothers Leo and Jimmy Maddix, her first husband Peter (Agape) Arsenault, second husband Nazaire (Ned) DesRoches and her grandson Glen Deveaux. She is survived by her brother Martin Maddix, daughter Joyce Deveaux, sons Bill and Paul Arsenault. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Dawn, Sheryl, and Cory Deveaux, Craig and Robyn Arsenault and Pamela Arsenault, her 7 great grandchildren Jarrid, Nathan, Lucus, Matthew, Marissa, Kieran and Dawson and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Evangeline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124, Urbainville for visitation on Thursday, Oct 6th, 2022 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m., followed by Mass at Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques church, Egmont Bay at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A reception will follow. Donations in Loretta's memory made to the Evangeline Funeral Home or a charity of choice will be gratefully appreciated.
