Obituary of Richard, René Joseph

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on his birthday Saturday, October 15 of René Richard of Egmont Bay, age 89 years. Born October 15, 1933, he was the son of the late Céofred Richard and the late Edna (Arsenault) Richard of Urbainville. René is survived by his beloved wife Aline (Barriault) Richard and is the loving father to Claudette (Jules) Poirier, David (Nancy), Eldon (Nancy), Norman (Tammy), Wayne (Peggy) and Roy (Julie). He will fondly be remembered by his sisters Zelma (late Edward) Arsenault, Mélina (Harold) Cameron, Aldona (Richard) Larcheveques and Donalda (Donat) Gallant. Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren Mark, Rhéal, Alain, Janice, Shelley, Dillon, Mitchell, Darren, Kayla, Zackary, Brenna, Keith, David, Anna and by numerous great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his sisters and brother-in-law Bibienne (late Urbain) Bernard, Mélina (Adelard) Gallant and by many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents and parents-in-law, and by brothers and sisters Frederic (late Tina) Richard, Yvonne (late Adrien) Gallant, Merie (Adrus) Gallant, Cécile (late Eric) Barriault, Nora (Elmer) Gaudet, Donat (Eunice) Richard and by sister-in-law Nelida (late Euclide) Bernard and brother-in-law John Barriault. Resting at the Évangéline Funeral Home, 900 Route 124 Urbainville, until Wednesday, October 19th then to the Saint-Philippe et Saint-Jacques Church, Egmont Bay, for funeral mass at 4:00 p.m. Interment will follow the church cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 18th from 7 to 9 p.m. Donations can made in René's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice will be appreciated.
