On May 5th, 1940. She attended St. Antal Elementary School and then graduated from High School in Melville. She became a wife and mother in 1963 and threw her heart and soul into family life. She loved to sew, knit and crochet to create garments for her children. Oh, those Siwash Sweaters! Most of all she loved taking care of her grandchildren.

Mom met the love of her life, George Kalenchuk in 1989, at a dance. It was there where they began over 30 years of loving companionship. He was a devoted partner and cared for her when she needed it, later in life.

Mom was a hard worker, accepting physically and mentally challenged individuals into our home, to provide care for them for almost 26 years. There were many life lessons that came out of this experience. She was always caring for others in some shape or form until she was into her 70’s. She worked at SGI for 16.5 years in the 1970’s and 1980’s.
