William Coleridge

Obituary of William 'Bill' Coleridge

The family of William (Bill) Coleridge, beloved husband of Gerry sadly announce his passing on November 7, 2022 at the age of 78. Bill was the youngest of 4 children born to Frank and Dorothy Coleridge on October 16, 1944 in Wadena Sask. He was the king of the grill, his burgers were famous. As soon as the bbq was lit and the smell filled the air, there would be kids and friends lining up to get the best bbq burgers in town. Bill was a mechanic by trade but his passion was for auction sales and collecting toys. Bill and Gerry spent many weekends going to auction sales looking for antiques, but usually ended up coming back with a truck full of so called “Treasures” instead. A Christmas gift from Gerry started his toy collecting journey, first with scale model cars then moving onto all things John Deere Green. Thousands of miles were travelled attending numerous shows in Canada and USA including 2 trips to Dyersville Iowa for the National Farm Toy Show. He created many wonderful memories, acquaintances and life long friends. Bill also spent many hours of hard work and dedication organizing and hosting the Yorkton Farm Toy and Collector’s Show. So many great times were had by all. He will always be remembered as an avid toy collector.

He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Dorothy; brothers Allan (Jean), and Donald; brother-in-law Garland Berg. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Gerry; daughter Nicol (Brad); son Calvin; sister Donna and sister-in-law Caroline, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and his many other relatives and friends. There will be no service at this time. In Bill’s memory, memorials may be made to Close Cuts for Cancer (c/o 23 Bull Cres, Yorkton, SK S3N 3Y5). A very big thank you to Dr Andy VanHeerden of Yorkton, and to the staff of the Gateway Lodge in Canora for your excellent care. To our dear family and friends that have been by our side during this difficult time, thank you, your support means the world to us.
