Obituary of William Baron
<p>The family of William "Willie" Baron, beloved husband of Virginia of the Gorlitz District sadly announce his passing on Thursday, November 3, 2022. Willie was 84 years of age.</p><p>No service will be held at this time, but a service is being planned for the spring of 2023 with the interment to be held at the St. Mary's United Parish Cemetery, Golitz District.</p><p>Memorials in memory of William may be made to the Alzheimers Society (301-2550 12th Ave., Regina, SK S4P 3X1) or Charity of Choice as gifts of remembrance</p><p>William Baron was born on September 27th, 1938 on the family farm in the Hryhoriw district.</p><p>He attended the Hryhoriw school until 1947 when they moved to Yorkton.</p><p>While in Yorkton, he attended Burke school and the YCI .</p><p>Willie as a youngster was a gifted artist and his teachers would often comment on his lifelike drawings of birds .</p><p>He loved the outdoors and archery and canoeing were his passions .</p><p>Later on, he enjoyed hunting.</p><p>Willie had a very strong work ethic and this evident with his part-time jobs grade 8 through high school.</p><p>In high school, he met the love of his life Virginia and in September 1959 they were married.</p><p>Willie & Virginia were happily married for 63 years .</p><p>They were blessed with two girls, Michele and Sheila.</p><p>They started their life together in Regina. Willie worked at Ipsco and then the Dept. of Labour.</p><p>In 1966, they moved to Saskatoon and he continued his work with the government. During this time he travelled a lot and on these road trips he enjoyed fishing and began painting . He was a very talented artist.</p><p>Following a number of years in Saskatoon, Willie & Virginia moved to Prince Albert. He began a successful career with Weyerhaeuser.</p><p>Willie was able to enjoy many years of retirement on the Wiwchar family farm near Good Spirit Lake .</p><p>He loved his family and friends and enjoyed many fun gatherings!</p><p>His energy brought life into every room. His adventures and shenanigans were legendary.</p><p>He had a lust for life like no other.</p><p>The stories and memories we have of this wonderful man are endless.</p><p>Willie is predeceased by his parents Steve & Stella; his sister, Sophie and his grandson Riley.</p><p>He is survived by his loving wife Virginia , his sister Liz Vossen , daughters Michele (Mike Smith ) and Sheila (James Griffith);</p><p>3 grandchildren - Kelsey (Matt Lowe), Brody Leimer and Jesse (Erin) Leimer; 5 great - grandchildren Jack, Riley, Talin, Alinea & Remedy.
