Matthew then ran heavy equipment working for the Mason Brothers. Following the death of his father, Matt returned to the farm. Matt continued to raise cattle, but the lure of working as a cowboy was too strong. Matthew and Victoria were blessed with two daughters, Lorrie and Wendy.

Matthew could fix almost anything given a few tools, some wire, spare parts, a welder and a bit of time. After retirement, he designed an abundance of chairs, benches and whimsical yard ornaments which still grace many households. Matthew’s love, however, was his many horses.

Matthew is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Victoria Macuick, his daughters Lorrie (Merle) Kozun of Prince Albert, SK and Wendy Macuick of Blairemore, AB. Matthew is also survived by his granddaughter Dr. Breann Kozun (Philip Karnes) and great granddaughter, Eloise of Prince Albert SK and grandson, Dr. Matthew Kozun of Ottawa, ON.
