Obituary of Tisher Ann Briggs
Tish Ann (Chessher) Briggs, January 28, 1939- Aug 31, 2022 age 83 of Crestview FL passed away Wednesday, Aug 31, 2022 under the care of Southern Oaks Nursing Home/ Regency Hospice in Pensacola Fl; after nine courageous years fighting with Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB)/ Alzheimer’s disease. She was born January 28, 1939 in Baker Florida to Joseph Albert Chessher and Alma Lanore Williams Chessher. She was a long time resident of Jennings Florida, where she was a devoted preacher’s wife and caregiver for 32 years to Forice “Wayne’ Briggs whom preceded her in Death on May 20, 2013. She was long time cook/ waitress at Marbella in Tampa FL; Jennings Bluff Hunting Preserve in Jennings FL, and the Southern Kitchen in Perry GA. She was also co-owner of T & W Sales with her late husband.
She is survived by sons: Veron Wayne Officer , Leland Darrell Officer ( Susan) , Nathan Thornton, Twin daughters, Lori Ann Brackin (Donald “Scooter”) and Lisa Vandervort ( Jeffrey) ; 2 stepsons: Ferrell Briggs and ( Terry) , Jeffrey “Lyle” Briggs ( Gwen), one stepdaughter: Leslie Frazier,( proceed by Bill Hudson) and 3 siblings: Faye Hobbs, Mollie Head, J.B. Chessher, Grandchildren: Neisa Vandervort, Jeffrey Vandervort II, Donald “Tater’ Brackin II, Melissa Welsh, Lauren Weinberg, Michael Weinberg. Step-Grandchildren: Evelyn A Briggs and Jeffrey “Ian” Briggs, and Annabeth Eddins, Brad Briggs and Jacob Briggs and Carolyn D Hudson and Great Grandchildren: Kathryn Marcus, and Troy Marcus JR., Delaney Hudson, and Travis officer and many nieces/ nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Chessher; mother Alma Chessher, 8 siblings: Mary Chessher, John Chessher, Joe Chessher, Void Chessher, Wilma Gosnell, Rhett Chessher, Maxie McClamma, and Maggie Mae Chessher, and step son Brad Briggs
She did love to fish. Her favorite story: She went into DMV one day to get her Driver license and due to her being on SSI, they asked if she would like to have her fishing and hunting license as well. Tish said “Sure I’m always hunting for a place to fish!”
She will be laid to rest with her late husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell FL
