Obituary of robert kenneth tyson
Robert Kenneth Tyson (Ken), 66, of Niceville, Florida, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, December 12, 2022, after a three month struggle with cancer. Ken, a life-long resident of NW Florida, was born on March 30, 1956 in Tallahassee to Robert and Sally Tyson.
Ken achieved the coveted rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America in 1970. He went on to graduate from Richards High School in 1974, and in 1975, received an AA Degree in Physics and Mathematics from Tallahassee Community College. Over the years, Ken accomplished many things. He was an ordained Southern Baptist deacon, civil war re-enactor, part of a barbershop quartet, life insurance agent, an extra in various TV movies, guitar and banjo player, author of two books, and scuba diving instructor. He scuba dived in many different areas around the world producing underwater photography and video. For many years, Ken worked as an audio technician for a number of different major networks covering professional sports, including three International Olympics and one world-cup soccer event.
Ken will be missed by his Rosemont Baptist Church family, where he was an active participant. In many worship services, Ken led the congregation in Scripture reading and prayer.
A celebration of life will be observed at Rosemont Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 28 at 11:00 AM. There will be a fellowship luncheon following the service.
