Obituary of Frank Bodnar

BODNAR - Mr. Frank Bodnar, resident of Melville, and formerly of the Hubbard district, passed away on August 30, 2005 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina. He was 72 years of age. Frank Bodnar was born on November 10, 1932 in the Hubbard district of Saskatchewan; a son of Alex and Fanny (nee Protz) Bodnar. Alex was raised on the family farm and attended the Hard Rock School. As a young man, Alex helped on the home farm and eventually took over the farming operation. In the mid 1980's Alex moved into Melville to make his home. His hobbies included watching sports, especially hockey, on TV and playing bingo. He was predeceased by his mother Fanny in 1972, father Alex in 1975, his brother Walter in 1973, and sister-in-law Joy in 1976. He is survived by his brother Alex of Edmonton, a nephew John in Australia, and numerous cousins and other relatives in the Bodnar and Protz families. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Rev. Father Methodius Kushko C.Ss.R officiated. Cantor, Ed Pindus, assisted by members of the parish choir, led in the singing of the responses. The crossbearer was Malynnda Churko. The interment followed in the Garden of Crucifixion with John Pihach, Kyle Stenkewich, Garth Churko, Jeff Fawcett and Walter Sass serving as the casketbearers. Coffee and donuts were served in the Family Centre Reception Room following the interment. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
