Obituary of Mark Harvey Pelletier

With heavy hearts, the family of Mark Harvey Pelletier, announce his sudden passing on October 17, 2022. He was 57 years of age. Mark was a Husband, Father, Grandpa, Son, Brother, and Friend to many. His parents, Harvey and Mary, and sister, Karen, added the final piece to their military family when Mark came into the world on January 27, 1965 in Edmonton, Alberta. Returning from a four year military tour in Germany in 1971, Yorkton became home, where Mark made many lifelong friends. Mark’s childhood was spent surrounded by family. Mark was always sharing laughs with cousins, making memories with grandparents, aunts and uncles, and enjoying the company of those who loved him. Mark’s experiences as a boy helped him to become the man he was. Mark’s hardworking demeanor began at a young age. Enlisting into the military at 18 years old spoke volumes to Mark’s character. He excelled at every job he was faced with, as his career began at Potzus Construction in Yorkton. He built a foundation for success within his career. Fond of music from an early age, Mark picked up the guitar. He was a natural musician and could often be found jamming and gigging. Mark truly was an entertainer. Mark was a man of few words but meant every word he spoke. He had a sense of humour like no other. Whether he was telling one of his lengthy stories, sitting around a fire, or enjoying a cold one, there was always laughter to be heard. You were in his good books if you were lucky enough to be given a personal nickname by Mark. Mark and his wife, Lounna, have been together for 38 years. Young and in love, they were blessed with two daughters, Allison and Mackenzie. Out of all the jobs he ever had, his greatest was being a dad to his girls. Mark’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, Lillian and Jacob. Papa to Lil and Grandpaw to J, Mark cherished every moment he spent with his grandkids in the past eleven years. Mark’s interests were vast. He could be found watching planes at the airport, finding all the “good spots” to eat, cooking – getting in the way – in the kitchen, or taking a backroad through the mountains with his family. Mark was a mentor and idol to many. He made others feel protected and secure. He made sure he had everyone’s back. He was charismatic and spontaneous, amongst other things. Mark was a man that you wanted to know. Mark now joins all his loved ones that have gone before him. Mark leaves behind his wife, Lounna; his daughters, Allison (Steve) and Mackenzie (Corbin); grandchildren, Lillian and Jacob; his parents, Harvey and Mary; sister, Karen (Shawn); nieces and nephews, and many family members and friends. Mark will be missed by all who crossed his path. Donations can be made in memory of Mark to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada. Service Details.
