Joseph Steiner Szczepanski, age 76 passed away September 12, 2022 at his home in Cantonment, Florida. Joe was born August 18, 1946 in Troy, Alabama to Edward and Kathleen Szczepanski. He was Raised in Phenix City, Alabama along with 3 brothers. Joe graduated from Phenix City Schools, with certificates of award for never being late or tardy, which family will tell you was on par for Joe. After graduation he joined the Army. Joe quickly rose in rank to Unit Supply Specialist (SP4), earning a National Defense Service Medal, and Expert Marksman. With his duty to his country complete, Joe moved to Florida where he opened multiple businesses in the Pensacola area. Joe was a compassionate and loving soul. He loved being silly and could not stand for anyone to be mad at him for too long. He was an animal lover as well as a handyman who enjoyed tinkering. In the last few years of his life, he and his partner, Helen, enjoyed building RVs from the ground up, spending time with their well-loved pets.
Joe is preceded in death by his Parents Edward Szczepanski and Kathleen Baggett Szczepanski; beloved brother, Patrick Szczepanski; as well as two beloved pets, Mollie and Goobie.
He is survived by his soulmate and partner of 20+ years, Helen Borden; brothers, David Szczepanski and Edward Szczepanski; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends, and Hippie, whom he loved to spoil.
A Funeral Service will be held for Joe, Tuesday September 20, 2022 at 1:30 pm (ET) at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, Alabama. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to your local animal shelter or rescue in Joe�s name.
