Obituary of jeffrey ermond hughes
Jeffrey Ermond Hughes passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, December 1st, 2022 of natural causes. Jeffrey was born on July 20, 1968 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to Molly and Roger Hughes. At a young age, Jeff moved with his family to the Houston, Texas area where he graduated from Frank Dobie High School. Jeffrey had a life long love of sports and was active in soccer, track, and cross country running while in High school. After moving back to Fort Walton Beach in 1994, Jeff remained active in soccer as a certified referee for youth and high school soccer. Jeff also had a life long love of Rock & Roll music. He had a remarkable memory of the songs and groups from the 1970's to the early 2000's, and worked as a Disc Jockey and sound man at various clubs and parties. He was also an active member of several pool leagues in the Fort Walton Beach area, and enjoyed the friendship, competition, and good times found there.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother and father, Molly & Roger Hughes; sister, Holly Hales; brother-in-law, Jeff Hales; much loved niece, Ava; and nephew, Gavin. Jeff will always be remembered as the "Fun Uncle". He is also survived by Aunts Barbara Weeks, Aunt Jackie Oglesby, Aunt Dona Hughes, step Aunt Robin La Rouche, step grandmother, Olene Harrelson, and many cousins. Jeffrey was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Marie and Ermond Harrelson; paternal grandparents, Jane and Harley Hughes; as well as a step-grandfather, Duncan Barton.
Friends are invited to attend the visitation for Jeff, Friday, December 16th at 11 AM where a Memorial Service will be held at Noon, at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 101 Mary Esther Blvd., Mary Esther, Florida 32569 (850)226-4240. A private grave-side service will be held at a later date in Panama City, Florida.
