Obituary of Alexander Graham 'Dud' Langley
LANGLEY, Alexander Graham 'Dud' - 66, Port Hawkesbury, formerly of Point Tupper, died Sunday, February 13, 2005, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Point Tupper, he was the son of the late Ernest O. and Sarah Margaret (Malcolm) Langley. He was a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces, having served in the army. Dud was an Ordinary Member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 43, Port Hawkesbury. He is survived by his wife, Marlis, Highland Crest Nursing Home, Antigonish; daughters, Heike (Paul) Shears, Grantville; Holly (Paul) Ryan, Troy; son, Michael (Donna), Fredericton, N.B.; sisters, Shirley (Phil) Doucette, Clearmont, Fla.; Mary (Morley) MacNeil, Port Hawkesbury; brothers, Curtis (Glenda), Halifax; Junior (Sheila), Port Hawkesbury; Frankie (Eleanor), Stoney Creek, Ont.; precious grandchildren, Sherri and Tyler; 12 nieces and eight nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Joan Landsky and Catherine Ann.
There will be no visitation. A Legion memorial service open to the public will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 43, Port Hawkesbury. Burial in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Dud's memory may be made to Albert King, 4 Summit Dr., Port Hawkesbury, NS B9A 2Z9.
