Obituary of Peter Jacob Gatza
GATZA, Peter Jacob - 70, Upper River Denys, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck.
Born in Victoria Mines, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Bertha (Brown) Gatza. Peter was a retired coal miner and school bus driver. He was a member of St. Dionysius Parish, River Denys Station. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Winnie Campbell; daughters, Elaine (Glenn) Graham, New Waterford; Carolee Gatza, Neguac, N.B.; Belinda (Arthur) Mason, Bernadine Benjamin, both of Ottawa; Lynn (Ed) Lapthorne, Lantz; Paula Gatza, Moncton; son, Peter (Heather), Windsor; siblings, Margie, Annie, Anthony, Larry, John, Joe, Wilfred 'Sonny', Burt, Floyer, Louis; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sisters, Theresa and Loretta; brother, George.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. this evening and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday in St. Dionysius Roman Catholic Church, Father Allan MacPhie officiating. Burial in parish cemetery.
