Obituary of Tina Louise MacLellan

MacLellan Tina Louise (56) Port Hawkesbury, NS. It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Tina Louise MacLellan following her short battle with cancer on Monday, September 5th, 2022, surrounded by family at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born May 27th, 1966 in Antigonish, NS. She was the youngest of 11 children to the late Pte: Donald Archibald (DA) and Mary MacLellan. Tina resided in Cape Breton for the remainder of her years. Beginning her career at the age of 18 with Stora Enso cafeteria, where she spent 20 years of her professional life. Tina was always known for her strong work ethics and independence. There was no denying that Tina worked hard for what she wanted in life and to provide the best she could for her only child, Caitlin. One of her major accomplishments in life was being able to build and own her own home at the age of 25; a home that she was able to raise Caitlin in, showing her the value of independence and instilling the same strong work ethic as her. Anyone that knew Tina knew Caitlin was her entire world; their bond as mother and daughter was fierce and like no other. Having already battled cancer once before with Caitlin’s leukemia diagnosis at the age of 10 and 32. Her strength, determination and will to fight was unstoppable and is what pushed Caitlin to never give up. She was an inspiration to many for her traits, but to Caitlin, Scarlett, Olivia and her life partner Sandy she was their EVERYTHING- the rock, the glue, and the home wherever she was. Besides being an amazing mom nanny and partner- Tina was a life long dedicated fan to her Maple Leafs, and Rolling Stones, more specifically "Mick Jagger". Tina enjoyed her flowers when she gardened, her Sundays binging Coronation street, with a hot cup of tea and a challenging crossword or sudoku. Tina is survived by her life partner Sandy (Warner), daughter Caitlin and two granddaughters Scarlett and Olivia (Hoben) or as she called them "Letty and Livy". Sisters Linda (Allen) Bates, Karen (Vince) Daigle, and Mary MacLellan all of Long Stretch Road, NS. Brothers Dick (Mary) MacLellan of Winnipeg Manitoba, and Gussie MacLellan of Port Hawkesbury, NS. Tina was pre-deceased by her baby sister Mary (at infancy), sister Sheila (Angus) MacDonald of Antigonish, and brothers Gary, Robert (Theresa) MacLellan of Bay St. Lawrence and Fraser (Debbie) MacLellan of Port Hastings, NS. Tina had many nieces and nephews; each one held a special place in her heart and she loved them as her own. Tina had a "special" support team outside of Caitlin and Sandy during the last few months of her life; To her nieces Tracy MacDonald, and Crissy Marchand, nephew Gary MacDonald, Life long friends Kenny MacAskill and Cindy MacLean, sister-in-law Theresa MacLellan and brother-in-law Angus MacDonald. Tina was forever grateful for you all, and there are no words to explain how much we the family appreciated you all for everything you’ve done and do for us still. Special thanks to Dr. Jean McLaughlin for all the years of care as her family MD, and her palliative team Dr. Phillip Cooper, and RN Kyla MacKeigan.
