Obituary of Carol Ann Abbott
Carol Ann Abbott
December 29, 1946 to September 15, 2022
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Abbott, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia and raised in Westmount, she was the eldest daughter of Dan Alex and Sally (Liddle) Buchanan. Carol was predeceased by her parents and her best friend and loving husband of 43 years, John Abbott.
Carol is survived by her son David (Stephanie Fabbro) North Vancouver, BC and her precious grandchildren Leah and Quinn, her sisters Dorothy (Joe March) and Joan (Mike MacEachern) of Westmount, and her special nieces and nephews.
Carol worked in retail women’s fashion for Woolco and Walmart for over 40 years, retiring in 2014. Between working and life, she made many treasured friends. Carol was a member of Westmount United Church while living in Westmount and later a member of St. Marks United for over 40 years.
Carol was a loving wife to her husband and will be remembered for her smile, her energy, her sense of fun and her love of books, bowling, and dancing. Carol enjoyed her walks and appreciated a good chat. Most of all she adored her grandchildren whom she was immensely proud.
The family would like to thank Dr. Collins, Nova Scotia Home Care Nursing, and the Hood family for the kind and compassionate care they provided to Carol.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, September 23, 2022 any time between 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Strait of Canso Yacht Club in Port Hawkesbury.
Interment will be in Pinehill Cemetery, River Bennet, Victoria County at a later date.
