Caitlin Jane Daphney Googoo, of We’koqma’q First Nation, age 32. Born February 25, 1990 and passed on September 24, 2022 It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Caitlin Jane, our Beloved daughter, Granddaughter, sister, Aunt, Godchild, niece, Godmother, Cousin and friend. Caitlin entered the Spirit world surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Baddeck on February 25, 1990 and passed away at Inverness on September 24, 2022. A picture tells a thousand words, pictures of Caitlin will tell a thousand stories. Stories of Love, compassion that she had for everyone, love for her family, her friends. A smile that would brighten your darkest days, a smile that would rival the Sun. Eyes of beauty, eyes that captivated you, eyes that lit up with joy, eyes that expressed so many emotions. A girl that had so many friends, every one of them special. Every one of them hold their own bond between them. She was so prould of her green eyes, a treasure she wouldn’t hesistate to boast about. Let’s be honest, Caitlin was beautiful, beyond gorgeous and she loved her features, her eyes, her teeth, her clear skin and without being vain, she made it clear to us how beautiful she was. If anyone could hold a room, it was Caitlin. Quietly, she held the center of attention without asking for it. Not one to shy away from a joke or two that bordered on inappropriate, Caitlin could have rivaled the greatest comedians. The last few days, there have been so many of her friends sharing stories about her infectious laugh and humour. Caitlin held her humour right to the end, easing our hearts by her just being her. On behalf of Caitlin, her family, we want to thank every single one of her friends. You all meant the absolute world to her. Catilin had a unique gift. Children and Babies loved her. She loved them. She had special bonds with so many children. She adored her nieces and nephews, her little cousins, children of her friends. Caitlin was a special auntie to everyone. When we say Every Child Matters, Caitlin made sure she held that testament to heart. Caitlin seemed to have a sense of emotions of those she loved, she had a way to help heal those who were struggling. She would show up with a hug, with a gift, with a memento randomly. As she did for her sister, Cammeilia. She knew when she needed her the most and Caitlin would come with a gift but most importantly a hug, a shoulder to lean on. We’koqma’q has lost a personality that was infectious and precious. Caitlin, you will be missed. Caitlin Jane is survived by her mother; Nanora Googoo, We'koqma'q, father; Clinton Morris Sr. (Marion), Fiance; Bernie Sylliboy "Bonky", sisters; Cammeilia Googoo (Gordon), We’koqma'q, Barbara Googoo, Kassandra Denny, brothers; Clinton Jr, Cameron Googoo (Michaela), Clarence Michael, Tony Knockwood, Conrad Morris, Grandmother; Madelaine Morris, Grandfather; Roderick Googoo ( Christene), Godmothers; Joan Lafford and Duce Sylliboy. Aunts and Uncles, her Godchildren; Amarallis, Christoff, Kolesyn, Savior, Darius, Heartly, Francis, Tiam, and Tavera. Godsister, Kendyl. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her Grandmother, Barbara Jean Googoo, Godfather, Clifford Googoo, uncle; Rodney Googoo (Chico), niece; Micah Ansalaw’et and brother; Jameson Gould.
