Dear Jean and family. My heart goes out to you all at this difficult time. I am so sad to hear of Vern's passing. We had many good chats over the years, and I came to love and respect this humble man. He could always make me laugh. We reminisced about my late dad whom Vernon worked at DOT with and I so enjoyed him talking about dad. I will miss him dearly as will we all. A truer, kinder, person could not be found. God bless and keep you all in his care. Love and prayers. Betty Lyons.

Dear Jean & Family: We are very saddened to hear of Vernon's passing and extend our sincere sympathies to all his loving family. It was our lucky day 20 years ago, when Vernon became the best cottage caretaker that anyone could wish for. He provided us with peace of mind knowing he regularly checked on our place and that he responded, without delay when we needed an extra favor from him. We will especially remember his dropping by to chat, keeping us up to date on what was happening along our side of Chedabucto Bay. He was indeed a kind, caring, gentle man. He will remain part of our fondest cottage memories.
