Obituary of Hubert G. “Skeeter” Hughes, Jr.

HUBERT GLENN ‘SKEETER’ HUGHES, JR. Native of New Bern, NC Hubert G. ‘Skeeter’ Hughes, Jr., 53, of 408 Alton Street, Elizabeth City died Sunday evening, October 27, 2002, in the Albemarle Hospital. He was born in New Bern, NC to the late Hubert Glenn Hughes, Sr. and Laura Daughtery Hughes. He was a retired long shore man with the Portsmouth International Terminal. Mr. Hughes is survived by a very close companion, Cindy Mitnick of the home, and several aunts, uncles and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, October 30, 2002, at 2:00pm in the Twiford’s Northside Chapel, 1115 N. Road St., Elizabeth City. Burial will be in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends and relatives in the lobby of the funeral home immediately following the funeral service and at other times at the residence. Twiford’s Northside Chapel, 1115 N.
