Obituary of Milton Elliss Phthisic, Sr.

Elizabeth City, NC Milton Elliss Phthisic, Sr., 68, died at his residence, 126 Ranch Drive, on October 29, 2002. Born in Perquimans County, he was the son of the late Wilbur M. and Dorothy Cartwright Phthisic, formerly of Belvidere, NC and was a retired truck driver. Mr. Phthisic is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lynda Davis Phthisic, and four sons; Milton E. Phthisic, Jr. of Belvidere, NC, Ricky L. Phthisic, David Michael Phthisic, and Steven E. Phthisic, all of Elizabeth City, NC. He was a loving grandfather, survived by 12 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Other survivers include a brother, Johnnie Phthisic of Belvidere, NC, and two sisters Doris Hollowell of Hobbsville, NC, and Faye Proctor of Hertford, NC . He was predeceased by a grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 2, 2002 in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel at 1:00 PM with Pastor Scott Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be at the home of his son, Michael Phthisic at 2504 Red Gate Drive, Elizabeth City, NC. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
