Obituary of Sara Margaret Bright Twiford

Elizabeth City, NC Sara Margaret Bright Twiford, age 87, of Elizabeth City, NC died Monday, November 11, 2002 in Guardian Care Nursing Home. She was born in Pasquotank County, daughter of the late Ernest LaSalle Bright and Christian Cornelius Warden Bright, and was the widow of Leslie J. Twiford. Mrs. Twiford was retired from Emmanuel Day Care Center and was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Melva T. Hardison and husband, Charles, of Camden, NC, Dawn Miller and husband, David, of Elizabeth City, NC, and Velma Dean Saunders and husband, Buck, of Zephyrhills, Fl.; one son, John Thomas Twiford of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister Vilma Umphlett of Elizabeth City, NC; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, November 14, 2002, at 11:00am in Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ed Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Old Hollywood Cemetery. The family will greets friends and relatives in the lobby of the funeral home immediately following the service. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
