Obituary of Myron Willis Chamberlin

Myron Willis Chamberlin, age 95, of 58 Hickory Trail, Southern Shores, NC, died Sunday, December 8, 2002 in Albemarle Hospital. He was born in Three Rivers, MA, son the late Myron Kinney and Fannie E. Calkins Chamberlin. He was the widower of Helen Hendrie Chamberlin. Mr. Chamberlin was a retired Civil Service worker for the US Naval Oceanographic Office in Norfolk, VA and served as a Merchant Marine during World War II serving with the Esso Company. He was a First Mate on the SS Abrams which was torpedoed off the coast of Hatteras during World War II. He graduated from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and was a member of the Thomas Lodge A.F. & A.M. Mr. Chamberlin is survived by a stepson, Robert Kettell and his wife Carolyn of Cincinnati, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; three step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Massachusetts. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
