Obituary of Curtis Wilbert Pierce

Curtis Wilbert Pierce, age 88, of 1147 North 343, South Mills, NC died Sunday, December 8, 2002 at his residence. He was born in Old Trap, NC, son of the late Benjamin F. and Lydia Forbes Pierce and the husband of Aline Sawyer Pierce of the residence. Mr. Pierce attended New Beginnings Assembly of God and was an equipment operator for the City of Portsmouth. Beside his wife, Mr. Pierce is survived by a daughter, Kay P. Banks and husband James A. of South Mills, NC; a son John D. Pierce of South Mills, NC; a sister Lorrine Forbes of Riddle, NC; five grandchildren, Amy C. Banks, Jason A. Banks, Deena P. Hankins, Tammy P. Cutrell, and Kevin Pierce; and two great grandchildren, Cody Hankins and Jordan Cutrell. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at 2:00pm with the Rev. Carroll Daniels officiating. Burial will be in the Sawyer Family Cemetery. Following the service the family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
